Our School Council is elected by the pupils from every year group; it meets regularly to discuss matters of interest to the children. The council has a budget allocated to help fund any ideas or projects. Meetings are fed back to staff with any ideas that they have generated.
School Council are continuing to successfully run our healthy tuck shop. They are in charge of ordering the snacks and drinks, as well as selling the items and collecting the money.
Tuck shop is on during Friday morning playtime, and all items are 50p each.
Our Partner School
School Council are also currently making a scrapbook to send to our partner school in Uganda. They have been given a list of questions about our school (covering topics such as school dinners, uniforms and lessons) and have decided to take lots of photographs to show the answers.
They will be putting the scrapbook together and thinking of some questions for the Ugandan children before we send it off. This is a really exciting opportunity and the children are enjoying showing off our school!
School Council help with all fundraising events throughout the school year. They have already organised Children in Need, with a 'design a superhero' competition and a dress up day to help raise money.
We are also planning to run a Race For Life event at school this summer - more details to follow!
Helping Around the School
The children from School Council are keen to help the school be the best place it can be. They take comments from other children about anything they are unhappy about, and pass these on to staff members. They are also going to be helping with risk assessments to help ensure that every child feels safe at school.
