The Village Academy

The Village Academy is a group of town, city and village schools that have joined together to provide the very best education for the children in our care and where we believe that education is very much a matter of the individual.

Petham has an active and generous PTFA. The support of this group is invaluable to the school and has made a real difference to how the school runs. Please see their latest Newsletter below for more information about forthcoming events:

In recent years the PTFA have supplied:

  • Donation of £50 to each class for 'wet play' toys.
  • Donation of £1000 towards the school trip to the pantomime.
  • New carpets for Robins and Swallows classes.
  • Two eco-cars for a Year 6 project.
  • Food for Cookie and Crumble, our school guinea pigs.
  • Lots of new books for the library.
  • A school celebration, "Petham Fest" with entertainment, face painting and food.

In September the annual AGM was held and Sarah Mathews was elected as Chair with Juliet Brockman and Liz Ashdown as Vice Chairs. Funding was reviewed and a draft timetable of events was agreed.

The PTFA is a vital part of our school community.  Without it, we would not be able to do as many things as we do as a school, and we certainly wouldn't be as well resourced.
