On Thursday 7th June, children from Owls and Woodpeckers classes went to a concert given by the Kidenza orchestra. The children heard excerpts from well known classical pieces played by a professional orchestra. The concert was presented in the context of a recipe book, where different musical 'ingredients' could be mixed together to create different 'flavours'. The children learnt about the different instruments, and how the pieces could be played to sound differently by changing dynamics, tempo and pitch. Evie was lucky enough to be chosen to conduct the orchestra! The concert was very interactive and the children were encouraged to join in with singing, clapping rythms and voting for their favourite instruments!
